What We Offer

Permanent NO MEDICAL QUESTIONS Life Insurance Policy

with Living Benefits for Long Term Care

In 2016, LIMRA reported there was a significant decline in life insurance coverage adequacy for U.S. households. In 2010, those insured had coverage to replace their income for 3.5 years. Today that has dropped to 3 years, which is far lower than most industry recommendations. In addition to this shocking realization, the U.S. Bureau of Census estimates that by 2060 as many as 24 million people will need long term care (LTC) services.


In response to the inadequacy of coverage for American households, VBW is offering MISBO member schools access to Transamerica’s TransElite Permanent Universal Life Insurance product and exclusive underwriting through our firm. This affordable insurance plan uniquely incorporates the needs for both permanent life insurance and LTC for all its policyholders.

TransElite offers employees the following:

  • Guaranteed issue Life Insurance (no medical questions) for all employees. Up to $150,000 Life/$300,000 LTC and simplified issue for policies up to $500,000 Life/$1,000,000 LTC

  • Coverage available for Employee, Spouse, Children and Grandchildren independently

  • Protection for life insurance and LTC benefits in one policy

  • 100% portability if an employee leaves a group for any reason

  • Payroll-deducted premiums

Approach to Schools

VBW has licensed agents throughout the country that will be happy to meet with you and your staff to administer this great new product from Transamerica.


For all schools who are interested in offering TransElite to their staff and employees, our office is proud of our ability to provide stellar, personalized customer service for each group. VBW will work with each group to establish their payroll account, organize on-site information or enrollment sessions and any other needs that are expressed. For on-site enrollments, we will have a benefits consultant or enroller visit the school to further explain TransElite, answer any questions, and administer the enrollment if they choose to enroll. As an extension of our office, this person will remain as a main point of contact for the group for as long as it is enrolled.

Tonya Lancaster, Principal

As one of the Principals of Voluntary Benefits at Work, Tonya Lancaster manages the implementation and enrollment processes for the company. She is a Voluntary Benefits Consultant with 15+ years of experience in sales, implementation and enrollment of voluntary benefits. Tonya graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Finance. Upon graduation, she worked for ADP for 9 years in payroll implementation and payroll sales. Tonya thrives at providing exceptional customer service while helping her clients implement the best benefit solutions at the best value.

Brian Ely, Principal

As one of the Principals of Voluntary Benefits at Work, Brian Ely directs the sales, technology and operations for the company. He is a Voluntary Benefits Consultant with years of experience in sales, implementation and enrollment of voluntary benefits. Brian is an Alumni of the Terry College of Business at UGA and has been a top producer for a variety of insurance companies over the past 15 years.

Robert "Bob" Fish, Special Projects Manager


Bob Fish is the Special Projects Coordinator for VBW on the MISBO account.  He has been in the insurance industry since 2003 specializing in the voluntary worksite benefits sector.  For the past five years his focus has been providing long term care solutions for the group market.  He considers his work a ministry as it always blesses the policyholder when they need it most.  Bob has been happily married to his lovely wife Carol for 30 years and they have two incredible sons.

Chrissy Berounsky, MISBO Account Manager

Chrissy is a dedicated account manager with Voluntary Benefits at Work. She enjoys servicing clients and, more importantly, educating others about how they can protect their families through voluntary benefit policies.


Chrissy is the main contact person in the office for employees within MISBO groups and will see to all employee needs are met.
